Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday June 20th 2001 The musicians played softly as the society guests watched the photographer at the party in the living room of the Mayor's party at Gracie Mansion. "Honestly Father, I think you should hire an image consultant for her if you're going to bring her out in public", Jan said frowning. Jan's Father Stanley and the wealthy socialite Elizabeth turned to watch nineteen year old Starlene as she took a seat in front of the window overlooking the East River. She pushed the slit of her long red evening dress open to reveal her shapely thigh as she crossed her legs. The photographer snapped a photo. Starlene placed her hands on the back of the velvet chair and pushed her voluptuous low cut bosom forward smiling seductively as the cameras flashed and men watched breathlessly. "She doesn't mean any harm," Stanley said watching the men as they stared at his beautiful blonde lover. "She's wants your money Father," Jan said disgusted with the display. "I've got plenty. I can afford her," Stanley said. "Don't worry if that's the only thing your Father has invested," Elizabeth said finding humor in the father, daughter exchange. "Have you given her any money?" Jan asked. "No my dear. I've only given you your allowance," Stanley said knowing this would embarrass his older single daughter. "You've never married Jan?" Elizabeth asked. "No. I've never met anyone worthy," Jan said feeling her face turn red. "I know a few eligible men I could introduce you to," Elizabeth offered. "I have a few gentlemen suitors, thank you," Jan snapped. She saw Skeeter walking towards them carrying a drink and she could feel her anger turn to lust at the sight of her secret lover. "Of course. I'm certain you do have plenty of friends," Elizabeth said turning to admire Skeeter as he walked towards them. "Thank you darling," Elizabeth said taking the drink from Skeeter. "Any time," Skeeter said smiling as he strained to keep his eyes off the large diamond necklace she was wearing. "Can you believe that Starlene's brother in law is here tonight," Stanley said still shocked that Skeeter was attending the party. "That's Starlene's EX brother in law Father," Jan snapped. "Right," Stanley said watching Starlene arrange her skirt as she changed poses for the photographer. "What is it like having a sister in law like Starlene?" Elizabeth asked noticing Skeeter's masculine hands and long fingers without a wedding band. "She's a great kid," Skeeter said. "That's right Skeeter she's a kid," Jan said. "Kids don't look like that," Elizabeth said knowing the effects her words would have on Jan. "No. Ladies don't look like that either," Jan snapped. "Now. That's enough Jan. Starlene's a nice young lady. She's just not accustomed to coming to parties like this," Stanley said. "Obviously," Jan said. "You're jealous Jan. You always get upset over my girlfriends," Stanley said noticing that the photographer was waving for him to come and join Starlene in the photo session. "I'll be back. Excuse me," Stanley said noticing that every man in the room was watching in envy that he was going to be photographed with the beautiful young blonde. "I'm leaving Father," Jan whispered as her Father left the group to join Starlene. "Go ahead. I'll talk to you tomorrow," Stanley said. "Skeeter could you take me home," Jan asked glancing towards her Father. She got the satisfaction and revenge she craved as she watched her Father stop and turn to listen to Skeeter's answer. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE PHOTOS BELOW.
