Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday May 18th 2001 "Starlene", Tiffany called out as she walked into her apartment overlooking Washington Square Park. She walked into the living room where she saw her sister on the sofa talking on the phone. She noticed that Starlene was dressed in a short black skirt and a tight low cut white sweater. Maybe her younger sister was finally going on a job interview she thought as she threw her purse on the chair and took a seat on the sofa beside her. "I gotta go now. I'll talk to you later," Starlene said hanging up the phone. "How was your day?" Starlene asked as if their tense phone call earlier today had never taken place. "How do you think my day was? I might get fired over your scandalous affair with that old man," Tiffany said throwing the newspaper on the coffee table in front of her sister. "I wish I had worn the blue dress," Starlene said picking up the newspaper and studying her picture on the front page as she and the older billionaire Stanley Morgan climbed into his limousine in Times Square. "Jan was at the office when I came to work this morning insisting that Clark fire me," Tiffany said still remembering the angry stares that Stanley's daughter had given her as she took her boss Clark upstairs to his office to complain. "Well, I'm sorry. There's nothing I can do now." "How dare you lie to me about this Starlene. You promised me you weren't seeing that lecherous old man," Tiffany said remembering how many times Jan's Father had tried to score with her. "We're in love." "Bull. He probably won't ever see you again now that everyone's talking about it and he's gotten what he wanted from you." "I'm going out with him tonight," Starlene said defiantly. "Oh God. I don't know how you could do this to me." "Jan will get over it. She's not exactly a nun. She better watch what she says," Starlene said remembering her conversation with Tiffany's estranged husband Skeeter. Skeeter had confessed to seeing Jan, the wealthy socialite, on the sly. "What does that mean?" "Nothing. Just that she has her own life." "Is she seeing Skeeter?" Tiffany asked having suspected them for months. "I don't know. It's time for 'Go Gossip'," Starlene said picking up the remote to the television and hitting the 'on' button as she ignored her sister's angry stare. "We've tried to get a word with Amir earlier today," the reporter said as a tape rolled showing Amir walking beside the paramedics as they pushed a stretcher into New York University Hospital. "Turn that up quick," Tiffany said jumping up and walking close to the TV screen. She watched as the camera showed a distant shot of Amir bending over the stretcher and kissing his comatose wife. "Did Amir say if the doctors gave any hope of her coming out of the coma?" the reporter asked. "No. He didn't have any comment. We contacted Amir's spokesperson today and they said that Mr. Hada is deeply concerned about his wife. They said he plans to visit her daily as the doctors here try to bring her back. They said that Mr. Hada is deeply in love with his wife and they had planned to start a family before the accident." "He never told me that," Tiffany said under her breath. "She's quite a beauty too," the reporter said as the camera zoomed in on the delicate features of the beautiful dark haired woman on the stretcher as the doors opened to the hospital and Amir rushed to follow the paramedics. "That's it for the gossip today. Stay tuned we'll have the other hot story tonight at eleven on the hottest gossip of New York…Starlene, The Lolita of Georgia and the billionaire Stanley Morgan," the reporter said as they went to commercial break. "See what you're doing!" Tiffany said angrily. "Yeah. I'm becoming a star." "The star of scandal." "You're just jealous because Amir's still in love with his wife." "That's not true." The buzzer on the intercom sounded and Starlene quickly picked up the phone on the table beside the sofa. "Yeah. Thanks," she said hanging up the phone. "Who's that?" "Stanley's coming up," Starlene said walking towards the front door to greet her older lover. CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE PHOTOS BELOW.
