Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday April 27th 2001 Starlene pulled the large Yankees T-shirt over her head to serve as a robe and walked towards the bedroom door of her sister's apartment overlooking Washington Square Park. "Do you want me to open the other bottle of wine?" she asked pausing at the door of her bedroom. "No. I better leave soon. I'm having dinner tonight with the Mayor" Stanley said. "I don't have anything to do tonight," Starlene said remembering how she had met the Mayor at the last big party Stanley had at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. "We're talking business tonight honey," Stanley said getting out of the bed and reaching for his clothes. "Maybe I could come by for dessert after the two of you are finished talking," she suggested. "No. He'll have some business people with him," Stanley said tucking in his white shirt. "Did you talk to the editor of Playbody yet?" she asked walking back into the bedroom and taking a seat on the bed. "I haven't had a chance honey", he said as he picked up his tie from the chair. "Well, when do you think you'll get a chance?" "I don't know. Soon, I hope." "Will there be TV cameras with you and the Mayor tonight?" "I doubt it," he lied. "Well, this is going too slow Stanley. I need some help. I thought you were going to help me out." "I will. I can't promise you anything though. I'll tell the editor of Playbody about you next time I talk to him," he said hoping this would keep her happy a little while longer. "You got Laney a job modeling. Can't you just tell them that you have a new girlfriend and she's really pretty just like Laney was?" Starlene asked wondering why it was taking him so long to fulfill his promises to help launch her career in New York. "We'll see." "If you take me out to dinner with you and they see me then maybe that's all I need. I bet the TV people will be following the Mayor around tonight," she said knowing that the Mayor's activities were broadcast every evening on the local news. "We'll go out sometime." "You've never taken me out Stanley. You always come over here. You've never even taken me to your house. I'm your girlfriend now, why don't you show me off?" "We'll ride around in the limo one night soon," he said smiling and patting her on the top of her blonde head. He walked to the dresser and started knotting his tie. She walked towards him watching him closely. "Well, if you don't help me out I'll have to get somebody else to do it," she said. "What does that mean?" "I had a photographer take some pictures of me and the photographer said I was one of the best looking women he had seen in a long time. "What kind of pictures did he take?" "The kind that Laney had published in Playbody and I think I looked better." "Let me see them." "I don't have them now." "Where are they?" "Why are you jealous or something Stanley?" she said running her hand seductively over his shirt as he pulled on the jacket to his suit.
Tiffany walked briskly towards her apartment building at Washington Square Park. She was glad Clark said she could leave the office early today. She needed to spend more time with her younger sister and discuss her future in New York. CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE PHOTOS BELOW.
