Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday April 19th 2001 "I won't put up with her any longer," Jan said. Clark sat on his sofa and watched in shock as Jan angrily walked towards Tiffany's desk and picked up the telephone dialing a number from memory. He had just hung up the phone with Tiffany's estranged husband Skeeter when he called asking to speak to Tiffany. Clark never thought giving Tiffany the afternoon off to go to dinner with his wealthy client Amir would make Amir's assistant Jan so angry. Amir stopped by the office at just the moment that Jan was making a case that Clark should fire Tiffany over the media reports linking Tiffany with Amir. Amir proceeded to tell Clark of his heartfelt appreciation of Tiffany's friendship in front of everyone. It was if Amir had known that Clark was about to fire her. He wondered if perhaps too much wine this afternoon was affecting Jan's judgement. "Hello," Skeeter said in his slow southern accent as he answered his phone in his apartment on Bleecker Street . "So you're looking for Tiffany?" Jan asked turning her back to Clark hoping he wouldn't hear her conversation. "No, I'm not. What are you talking about?" Skeeter lied hearing the anger in her voice. "You are too," Jan said. "What the hell are you talking about?" "I'm at Clark's office. He told me that you just called here looking for Tiffany," she said. "So? I had to ask her something." "I thought you were finished with her. I thought the relationship was over," she said as her voice became a little louder. She quickly turned to see Clark glance down at the floor to hide the fact he was trying to overhear her conversation. "I'm going to try and help her sister Starlene find a job. That's all, what's the matter with you?" "You're helping Starlene find a job? Why aren't you working today?" she snapped. "Oh, so now I have to answer to you about my hours at work?" he asked trying to keep his cool for fear that she might talk to his boss Bob and have him fired from the job she had found for him. "I'm sick of this. Your wife that you haven't divorced yet is out to dinner with Amir and you're taking the day off from the job I got you to help her sister," Jan said unable to control her anger. "Oh. Is that where she is this afternoon?" Skeeter asked. "Yes. As usual she's chasing Amir for his money. I'm helping you get a job and you continue to play into her hands. I'm telling you right now, I won't stand for this," she said. "I thought Clark fired Tiffany once for going out with his client?" Skeeter asked wondering if Jan's story was true. "He did. Amir came by the office this afternoon. I wish you could have heard him talking about how he adores your innocent little wife." "What'd he say?" Skeeter asked starting to feel she was telling him the truth. "He didn't want her to get fired. He talked about what a good friend she was and….". "He said this stuff in front of you and Clark?" Skeeter asked as he felt his face getting hot with rage. "Yes and they're at dinner now Skeeter. While you worry about her family ...and I'm the one that helped you. You're a fool!" Jan said. "Where did they go to dinner?" Skeeter asked shifting the phone to his spare hand as he picked up the apartment keys off the desk. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE PHOTOS BELOW.
