Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday April 17th 2001 "To most beautiful woman in world," Amir said in his broken English raising his glass of wine to Tiffany as they dined in the Italian Restaurant in Little Italy. "I think I should toast the bravest man I've ever known. You saved me from getting fired this afternoon," Tiffany said lifting her glass and touching his. She took a long sip of her wine and glanced as the waiter quickly came to their table and refilled the glasses. "You have nice afternoon off work, no?" Amir asked smiling. "Yes! This is so much fun. I don't think I will ever forget the look on Jan's face. You should have heard the things she was saying before you opened the door," Tiffany said remembering how Jan had told her and Clark that Amir needed her if he wanted to make it in political life in this country. "I hear what she say before I come in door," Amir said frowning slightly. "You did?" "Yes." "Doesn't that make you angry?" "She is how you say...spoil woman. I know many womans like this. This harm her. She is jealous of you. She is jealous of everyone. This make her life very unhappy," he said shaking his head. "But doesn't that really make you mad that she works for you and then talks that way behind your back?" "This is sad, I tell you. Very sad. Only it bother me if she cause you problem." "She was trying to get me fired. That's why she brought the tape of us on TV together to show Clark. I guess you will believe me now when I tell you these things," Tiffany said remembering how many times he had tried to convince her that Jan actually liked her when she knew better. "But this never happen", he said. "Only because you came by and said what you did. I will never forget the look on her face Amir. She was so surprised. I think she was ready to have a stroke when you said you wanted to make this up to me and take me to dinner," Tiffany said laughing. "I see surprise on her face," Amir admitted. "Surprise? She was dying Amir. It killed her that you asked Clark if you could take me out to a nice dinner and she couldn't say one word! I just loved that. I hope now this will stop some of her trying to undermine me. Maybe Clark will lay off of me some," Tiffany said. "I think she stop. I talk to her more at office tomorrow." "What will you say? Are you going to ask her why she did this?" "No. I give her raise." "Give her a raise? Are you kidding?" "No. This make her feel better, more important," he said taking a drink of his wine. "She doesn't need the money though." "No. She has no need for money except money is only measure for her to be important. If I give her more money she feel more important. Maybe she stop this behavior. I only do this that she leave you alone," he said taking a bite of his pasta. "So that's how the wealthy get more wealthy," Tiffany said as the phone in her purse started to ring. She quickly opened her handbag and took out her cell phone. "Hello," Tiffany said as she picked up the napkin from her lap with her free hand and touched the corners of her mouth. "That's great Starlene," she said smiling. "Yes, I'm with Amir. I'll talk to you more when I get home," Tiffany said hanging up the phone and putting it in her purse. "Your sister call?" Amir asked. "Yeah! She's excited, she thinks she might be able to get a job modeling." "To Starlene!" Amir said picking up his glass and raising it in a toast. "I hope so," Tiffany said tasting her wine. She quickly placed her glass on the table as a look of sudden concern came over her. "You want her to work, no? How can this not be good," Amir asked seeing the worry on her face. "I think she might have had some pictures taken the other day and I never got to see them. I 'm worried that she might be modeling something that our parents wouldn't approve of," Tiffany said. "Modeling good, no?" "I mean like Laney did, in Playbody or something. I better call her," Tiffany said frantically reaching in her purse for her cell phone. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE PHOTOS BELOW.
