Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday April 6^th 2001
"Look Jan I don't like you telling my boss to keep me on probation," Skeeter said walking towards the sofa in her Sutton Place Mansion overlooking the East River and the Queensboro Bridge.  He knew she was the reason he didn't get his employment contract signed today at the meeting with her friend and his boss. He also knew his best chance of getting that contract was to make her happy with him again after the incident with Cynthia.
"Here," she said handing him the bourbon and water he had requested.  "Look Skeeter.  It's really up to Bob to do what he wants.  I can try telling him that I think he should make you permanent if that would help?" she asked walking towards the coffee table with the decanter.  She placed the decanter on the coffee table in front of Skeeter.  She quickly looked up noticing his eyes on the front of her low cut sweater that had fallen open.  She knew he had noticed that she wasn't wearing anything under the sweater. Satisfied that her attire was having the effect she had planned she walked to the sofa and took a seat beside him.
"So you do have influence in this?" he asked still annoyed that she had probably told his boss not to give him his employment contract after the fight they had over him bringing Cynthia in the bar the other night.  Now that Cynthia had signed a deal with her agent and was leaving town things had changed. Cynthia's family's law firm wouldn't be assisting him in his plot to sue Jan's Father.   
"Well he listens to me.  He did hire you," she said admiring the way the muscles in his arm moved when he picked up his glass to take another drink.
"Look I'm the one that's working there.  You butt out of my job."
"Okay," she said feeling weak all over as she glanced at the open collar of his shirt and the dark thick hair on his chest. Before Skeeter came into her life it had been empty and lonely.  She had been spoiled to having a man around the house.
"If you want to have anything to do with my job, get him to give me a promotion.  I want an office with a view of the river," he said leaning back on the sofa and watching her for a response.
"I don't have that much influence," she lied.
"What's up Jan. Why did you call me over here?  What's this about Tiffany on the news?" he asked anxious to see what incriminating evidence she had recorded with his estranged wife and her boss the wealthy millionaire Amir Hada.
"We needed to talk Skeeter.  But I did record something I think you might be interested in," she said crossing her legs allowing her short skirt to rise revealing her thighs. "Watch this," she said hitting the VCR as the tape started to show Tiffany and Amir walking towards a long white limo in Little Italy.
"Mr. Hada!  Mr. Hada!  Could we have a word with you?" a young male reporter asked rushing towards Amir with a microphone as the cameraman pushed his way through the crowded sidewalk towards Amir and Tiffany.
"Please I have nothing to say," Amir said as he nodded for the driver to hurry and open the door.
"Mr. Hada we understand that your sick wife will be coming to this country for treatments."
"I have no comment."
"What about your date Mr. Hada?  Is that why you have no comment?" the young reporter asked as the camera and lights turned on Tiffany.
Jan hit the off button on the VCR and turned to face Skeeter.
"She's at it again Skeeter. She lied to you, to me, to Clark so she could get her job back," Jan said satisfied with her evidence.
"Did Clark see this?" he asked.
"I don't know," she said.
"Call him and find out."
"Okay." She said getting up from the sofa and walking to the table to pick up the phone.  She dialed the familiar number at Clark's home and office on MacDougal Alley as she watched Skeeter's face.
"Hello," Clark answered.
"Clark, I hope I didn't wake you."
"No. What's up Jan?" he said turning down the music in his living room.
"Did you see Tiffany and Amir on the news?" she asked.
"No. But I did see a report that Amir's wife will be here tomorrow morning."
"Oh I didn't see that report!  Look I'll bring you my tape tomorrow. I think it's only fair that you know," she said.
"Thanks Jan.  I do want that tape. Thanks I'll see you tomorrow, " he said hanging up the phone.
"That's done.  Now don't you want to thank me," she asked.  She smiled watching his eyes as the neckline on her sweater fell open when she bent forward to place the phone on the coffee table in front of him.
