Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday April 3rd 2001 "Everything work out for best you see," Amir said in his broken English kissing Tiffany's hand as they finished their dinner in the small Italian restaurant in Little Italy. "I don't know how you can say that Amir. I mean if the doctors are right and they manage to get her to wake up then it's over with us. If they don't wake her up then everyone will know you have a wife in the hospital and that if you're with me you are cheating. How can this ever work out?" Tiffany said shaking her head hopelessly. "I have no choice. I must bring her here. Doctors say this only chance for her," he said. "Do you still love her Amir?" "I care deeply. I wish only best." "How can you still love her and want to be with me?" "Doctors tell me no chance year ago. Then I meet you. I never know this happen. This I swear to you." "I just don't know what to do Amir. It's hard enough that I would lose my job if Clark found out about us. Now you'll have a wife here. I just don't know." "Patient. Be patient my lovely. If she wake up everything change. Perhaps she never remember me. How do we know she like America? We don't know these things. Patience. It take time. With time we be together, this I promise," he said struggling to remain confident. "Why though. Why now. Why couldn't you leave her there and see what happens?" "Advisors tell me that reporters get information that doctors say she have chance if she come to states. If reporters put this in newspaper that ruin any chance for office. These media ruin my life, I tell you. If not for this I wait and time care for this. They leave me no choice…." He said. "This is a nightmare. I guess now they'll start following you around again?" she asked remembering the few times the two of them had almost been cornered together by the newspaper reporters and television crews. "I expect this happen again. It be better for us to keep distance short time. Then we be together soon." "Oh God Amir. I don't see much hope now," she said watching the waiter bring Amir the receipt and place it on the table beside them. "Thank you," Amir told the waiter picking up the receipt and putting it in the inside pocket of his jacket. "I promise we be together soon. This I promise you. No matter what happen. I love you, this I promise," he said kissing her hand before they got up from their chairs and started towards the front door of the restaurant. "As long as I know you love me. I'll try to be patient," she whispered to him as they walked towards the front door realizing that her precious time with him was almost over. Amir pushed the door open and Tiffany walked out into the evening air. She saw the limousine driver open the door and get out of the driver's side and start to walk around the car. "Mr. Hada! Mr. Hada! Could we have a word with you?" a young male reporter asked rushing towards him with a microphone as the cameraman pushed his way through the crowded sidewalk towards them. "Please I have nothing to say," Amir said as he nodded for the driver to hurry and open the door. "Mr. Hada we understand that your sick wife will be coming to this country for treatments." "I have no comment." "What about your date Mr. Hada? Is that why you have no comment?" the young reporter said as the camera and lights turned on Tiffany. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE PHOTOS BELOW.
