Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday March 20th 2001 "Skeeter what did you mean by coming to the China Room Club last night bringing that girl with you?" Jan asked gripping the telephone at her office at Manhattan Gold International overlooking the Hudson River. "You called me and woke me up to ask me that?," he asked in his slow southern accent as he sat up on the side of the bed in his apartment on Bleecker Street. "Why are you home today? Why aren't you working? I got you a good job you should at least show up everyday." "You gave me the lead for the job Jan. I got the job because I've got experience. I'm sick of hearing how you got me the job," he said watching Cynthia roll over in the bed and open her eyes. "Who is that girl you were with?" "Who is that rich dude you were with last night?" he replied. "I told you, his family is a major contributor to the Mayor's new project for the libraries." "So did you sleep with your librarian, Stevie boy?" Skeeter asked. "Stop it Skeeter. You're the one that had a hot little number hanging all over you at the club," she snapped. "You think she's hot looking Jan?" Skeeter asked winking at Cynthia. "Skeeter you know better than to try and embarrass me this way. We agreed that we would never let anyone know that we even knew each other." "No one knows yet Jan. What' s the matter with you? Afraid your Daddy's going to cut off the money if he finds out you're slumming it with me," Skeeter said watching Cynthia sit up in the bed and light a cigarette. "We agreed." "We agreed that I'd come over to your house at nights and keep you satisfied. We agreed. We didn't agree that I couldn't have a life. We didn't agree that I couldn't go out in public," he said smiling as Cynthia rubbed the hair on his muscular thighs. "You came there last night stalking me Skeeter. You wanted to start trouble and embarrass me in front of Steve." "You embarrassed me in front of Cynthia," he said watching as she raised her eyebrows in approval of his comment. "It doesn't make any difference about that little tramp. My Father has money and his reputation's on the line with Steve and his family. This is business and it's important to the city as well," she said picking a piece of lint from her Chanel suit. "Your Father better worry about his reputation and what I might do to him," Skeeter said. "What does that mean?" "It means he better stay away from Tiffany and her little sister." "My Father's only interested in Tiffany and that little dumb sister of hers to entertain his political cronies. They're mere toys in his chest," she said picking up her china cup and taking a sip of her morning coffee as she watched Amir walk towards her office door. "You better tell your old man to watch his step or I'll sue him," Skeeter said. "You sue my Father, funny!" she said laughing as she watched Amir wave at her and start towards his office next door to hers. "You might not think it's so funny when he gets slapped with a law suit for interfering with my marriage." "Ha!" "Watch me Jan. Just watch me," he said slamming down the phone. "You didn't tell her. She doesn't think you can do anything does she?" Cynthia asked smiling. "Nope". "Good. Just as well you keep it that way. You going to call Steinburg, Williams and Weinstein today?" she asked referring to her families law firm. "I have more important things to take care of first," he said as he put out her cigarette in the ashtray by the bed and took her into his arms. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE PHOTOS BELOW.
