Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday March 7th 2001 Tiffany and Starlene watched as Amir, Stanley and Celinda stood in an area of the ballroom of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel where the television cameras were located. "I'm going over there. I want to be seen with Stanley Morgan," Starlene said glancing towards Tiffany. "I don't know," Tiffany said watching Celinda in her white evening gown. When the slender fashion designer moved, the thin jeweled straps on the gown barely covered her firm young bosom. "You do whatever you want Tiffany. I don't think you should stand here and let that fashion designer take your man. I know I want to be on television. Stanley promised me he would get them to interview me," Starlene said turning slightly and opening her purse. She opened a compact and quickly started to apply more lip-gloss. "I didn't hear Stanley promise you that," Tiffany said remembering that he had only said he would "see" about getting her interviewed. "Look what he did for Laney," she said referring to Stanley's past girlfriend that had modeled in Playbody Magazine with Stanley's introduction to the editors. "If I can get on camera, I'm off and running to bigger and better things," Starlene said in her southern accent, putting the compact back in her purse and zipping it. "Are you walking over there with me?" she asked turning around to face the ballroom full of celebrities and glancing towards her older sister. "I guess so. I don't have anything to lose except my job," Tiffany said laughing slightly in spite of her tension. She had only been rehired a few weeks ago and she certainly didn't want to do anything tonight that would give Clark a reason to regret his decision. She reminded herself that Clark's suspicions over her relationship with Amir had caused him to fire her only a few months ago. "Clark's gone. He went with Stanley's secretary to make arrangements for one of the old dignitaries," Starlene said in her southern accent watching the interview area as the two women started walking in the direction of the cameras. "Amir thank you for giving us a moment of your time. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of you in the coming days," the television gossip columnist said as the lights dimmed. "Darn, we missed the interview", Starlene whispered as they walked closer to the area. Stanley saw Starlene walking towards them and turned quickly towards the Mayor a few steps away. Starlene touched Tiffany's arm to hurry her towards the group before Stanley could leave the area. "Stanley," Starlene said. Amir quickly turned his head when he heard Starlene's voice. "I introduce you to Tiffany and her sister Starlene", Amir said in his broken English smiling as the two women approached them. "Tiffany, Amir has told me so many nice things about you," Celinda said extending her hand towards Tiffany and smiling. "It's a pleasure to meet you," Tiffany said surprised by her remarks as she took the hand of the fashion designer and quickly stole a glance towards her lover. Her eyes caught Amir's and at that moment she thought perhaps her jealousy of the fashion designer was unfounded. "This is my sister Starlene," Tiffany said. "Nice to meet you Celinda", Starlene said shaking her hand and turning her attention towards Stanley who was standing close by with the Mayor. "Congratulations Amir. You never told us that you were going to be appointed to an office tonight," Tiffany said smiling at her secret lover. "I only know Mayor consider this...how you say... this decision...many months ago," Amir said. "Amir's being very modest, but he'll get over that soon now that he holds a political office," the Mayor said walking towards the group with Stanley Morgan. "I've seen you on television so many times! I've always wanted to meet you!" Starlene said in her southern accent taking a step forward towards the Mayor brushing her blonde hair from her face and batting her long eyelashes. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE PHOTOS BELOW.
