Thursday February 8th 2001 "Hello", Jan said answering her cell phone as she sat at the dining room table in Arqua Restaurant. "Okay I'll tell everyone for you. Too bad, but I'm sure you'll enjoy your dinner with her," Jan said hanging up her cell phone and putting it back into her purse. "That was Amir. He can't make the party tonight Laney, he said to tell you he's sorry," Jan said glancing towards her Father's young Playbody model girlfriend and quickly back at Tiffany to watch her reaction. "Oh. I wanted to tell him goodbye," Laney said. "He has to go to dinner with this European fashion designer that might be bringing her line to New York," Jan said carefully monitoring Tiffany's response. "A designer! What kind of clothes?" Laney asked. "Nothing that you would be familiar with," Jan said smugly looking at Laney's tight little cocktail dress. "Well, I hope everyone will tell him I missed having him at my going away party", Laney said looking straight at Tiffany. Tiffany picked up her fork and took another bite of her pasta. Her heart sank as she wondered who this woman fashion designer was that her lover was going to dinner with tonight. She glanced towards Clark and noticed that he was watching her. She had to be careful that he didn't see how upset this news had made her. It had only been a few weeks ago that she had managed to convince him that she wasn't having an affair with their client, Amir. Her reaction could cost her job. "I just love Amir," Starlene said in her southern accent. She suddenly realized she was feeling the effects of the martinis and had forgotten her sister Tiffany's warning not to let anyone know that Amir was a regular evening visitor at their apartment overlooking Washington Square Park. "You know Amir too?" Clark asked. "Yeah. I met him." "Where did you meet Amir?" Clark asked smiling at Starlene. "At the office one afternoon while you were out," Tiffany said quickly looking at her intoxicated younger sister. "Oh…and you met Stanley while I was out too. I have to spend more time in my office," he said laughing and watching Tiffany carefully. "Yes I think you should Clark", Jan said. "I'll tell Amir you said goodbye Laney," Stanley said worried that Clark would fire Tiffany again. "Will there be anything else sir," the waiter asked Stanley as he rushed to the side of the older man that had motioned for him to come to the table. "No just the check please," Stanley told the waiter as his hand reached under the tablecloth to touch Tiffany's leg as she sat beside him at the table. "I wish I didn't have an early plane in the morning," Laney said taking the napkin from her lap and touching the corners of her mouth. "I'm sure we'll be seeing you again", Jan said reluctantly. "I think you'll be seeing a lot of me in the movies!" Laney said smiling. "Everyone's already seen all of you," Jan said thinking about the young girl's spread in Playbody. "And they all loved it too", Stanley said signing the check and handing it to the waiter. "Thank you Stanley," Laney said turning up her nose at her lover's daughter Jan. Jan's phone started ringing again and she reached into her purse and took it out as everyone watched waiting to get up from their seats to leave the restaurant. "Hello," she said into the phone. Tiffany turned her attention immediately to Jan wondering if Amir had called again. "Yeah Baby. I'm finished with dinner. You ready?" Jan asked looking up at Tiffany and smiling as she waited to hear Tiffany's estranged husband's response on her cell phone. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE PHOTOS BELOW.
