Thursday February 1st 2001 Tiffany pulled open the heavy glass door to Arqua Restaurant and walked up the steps into the dining room. She glanced towards the back of the restaurant beyond the large floral display and saw Stanley Morgan alone at a table with her boss Clark. She dreaded the thought of being with the lecherous Stanley this evening. She took off her coat, handed it to the hostess and walked towards the table. She noticed Stanley whisper something to Clark when he saw her coming towards them. "Tiffany, I'm so glad you could come this evening," Stanley said getting out of his seat to greet her. "Thanks for inviting me." Tiffany said as the older man pulled her close and kissed her on the cheek. She started to walk to the other side of the table and pull out a chair. "Here, sit here beside me," Stanley said pulling out the empty chair. "Where's Laney?" Tiffany asked. "My driver is picking her up. You sit here with me until she comes." Tiffany took a seat beside Stanley reluctantly and watched as Clark sat down looking at the two of them. "Jan stopped by the office this afternoon; she said she might not be able to come tonight," Clark said. "Oh don't worry. I talked to her later and she'll be here," Stanley said as his hand found Tiffany's thigh under the tablecloth. "Good. I'm sure Laney wants to say goodbye to Jan," Clark said watching the waiter as he pushed a tempting dessert cart to the table next to theirs. "Yeah! I'm sure Jan does want to say goodbye to Laney! Those two haven't been the best of friends", Stanley said laughing as he thought of the animosity his daughter felt for his younger Playbody model girlfriend. "Do you think Laney will be coming back to New York or do you think she'll end up living in California?" Clark asked noticing Stanley's arm moving slightly under the tablecloth. "Honestly. I think Laney will be staying there. I rented her an apartment in the Hills. The movie is just a B movie, but she's got more auditions and I hired one of the best agents in Tinsel Town to represent her," Stanley said. "She's a lucky woman. I bet you'll miss her," Clark said watching the older man's face. "Oh sure. I'll go there to see her on weekends sometimes," he said. "Tiffany where's Starlene, I thought you said your sister was coming?" Clark asked watching Tiffany shift uncomfortably in her chair. "She's meeting me here." "Little Starlene's coming?" Stanley asked excitedly. "Yeah", Tiffany answered dreading the entire evening more every minute. Stanley had deliberately tried to get Starlene drunk the first time he met her. "You've met her little sister?" Clark asked. "Yeah. I came by the office one afternoon while you were out and met her. She's a winner that little girl," Stanley said picking up his martini with his free hand and taking a drink. "Speaking of a winner, here she comes now," Clark said watching Starlene enter the front door wearing a long wool coat. Tiffany turned to watch her younger sister and smiled as their eyes met. It would be a relief to have another female at the table she thought. She watched as Starlene turned her back to the table to take off her long gray coat and hand it to the hostess. Tiffany picked up her water glass and took a drink. "She's a winner alright!" Stanley said as his warm hand pulled away from Tiffany's thigh and she felt him quickly push his chair back to get up. Tiffany glanced up and saw Clark's wide eyes sparkle. She glanced around the restaurant and noticed all eyes in the dining room glued to the front entrance. She quickly spotted Starlene smiling broadly as her ample young figure bounced in the tiny sequined halter top and her hips moved deliberately in the tight black leather pants as she walked slowly towards the table in her high heels.
