Monday January 29th 2001 "Tiffany are you and your sister Starlene busy tonight?" Clark asked as he stood in front of her desk picking up the phone messages she had taken for him while he was out of the office. "No why?" "I just got back from Stanley Morgan's office. He's throwing a little get together tonight for Laney," Clark said frowning when he saw that his accountant had called while he was out. "Oh really?" she said surprised Laney hadn't told her of the party. "I really hope you and Starlene can come to the party. Stanley said he wanted to give her a small intimate party with a few close friends." "Yeah, I guess we can come," Tiffany said dreading the thought of being around the lecherous Stanley again so soon after he had made unwanted advances towards her when Clark left the two of them alone together in the office. "You don't sound too excited about it," Clark said looking up surprised at the tone of her voice. "Oh sure. I'd love to come," she said smiling and pretending to be excited. "Good. I know Stanley's going to miss having Laney around. On the other hand this leaves him available for the interested single women in town," Clark said smiling at Tiffany and watching her face closely. "Laney's only going to California to make a movie. She's not moving there is she?" "I don't know. She'll be gone a while and with Stanley's connections she'll probably be a big Hollywood movie star," he said. "That would be great. She's really a nice girl." "Yeah, she's not a rocket scientist or anything, but when a woman looks like Laney she doesn't need to be," he said remembering the full page spread of her as Miss July. "She seems smart enough." "I didn't mean any harm. I think she's smart too. I mean she's been with Stanley for a while now. Any woman that can keep Stanley Morgan is pretty smart. Stanley can buy and sell most people in New York," he said watching her response to his words. "I hope she'll be really happy." Their conversation was interrupted by a knock on the front door. Clark walked to the door. Tiffany opened the bottom drawer to her desk and started pulling out files to do her days work when she heard a familiar voice entering the townhouse. "I stop only for one minute," she heard Amir say as he walked into the lobby of the townhouse. "It's great to see you Amir. Let me take your coat", Clark said closing the front door and motioning for Amir to come in. "No. No. I only stay one minute. Car wait for me. Hello Tiffany", Amir said in his broken English smiling and walking into the living room. "Hi Amir," she said smiling and looking away quickly for fear that Clark would know that the two of them were lovers. It had taken her weeks to convince him to let her come back to work for his party planning business. She knew he still wasn't totally convinced that she wasn't seeing his most valuable client. "How's the new spa going?" "Good, very good, thank you. I give you names for party invite," he said taking out a list from his briefcase and handing it to Clark. "We'll start to work on this right away," Clark said looking down impressed with the list of movie stars and New York political insiders that would be invited to an upcoming party that he would handle for Amir's new spa. "By the way, are you available this evening by any chance?" "I have no engagement," Amir said glancing towards Tiffany hoping they would share another intimate evening together as they had last night. "Stanley is giving Laney a little party and I hope you can come." "I be there." CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE PHOTOS BELOW.
