"No thank you.  I really shouldn't have another brandy," Tiffany said hoping Stanley Morgan would soon leave.  She was still shocked to come back to work from the bank this afternoon and find Jan's Father here in the living room with Clark.  She was even more shocked when Clark announced that he would be leaving for the evening and for her to lock up later.  He made a special point of telling her she didn't have to finish her work but should keep Stanley company while he was gone.
"Why not?  Clark's gone for the entire afternoon," he said ignoring her and pouring more brandy into her glass.
"I should do some work."
"He said you didn't have anything you had to do," he said handing her a full glass of brandy.
She took the glass and took a sip of the sweet liquor. 
"I haven't seen you in a long time Tiffany.  How's life?" Stanley asked.
"Good.  Everything's fine, thank you.  How are you?"
"Better now that I'm with you", he said taking a sip of his brandy and placing the glass on the coffee table.
"I'm surprised to see you here," she said placing her drink aside.
"I would have come by your apartment to see you but I'm not sure where you're living," he said.
"Very funny," she said nervously pulling her short skirt down when she noticed his eyes on her legs.
"Where are you living?"
"Across the street from Washington Square Park".
"With a friend?"
"With my little sister right now".
"Little sister?  I didn't know you had a little sister."
"Yeah.  She came to visit I don't know how long she'll be staying here."
"How old is she?"
"Nineteen".
"Does she look like you?"
"I guess."
"Married?"
"No".
"I'd like to meet her."
"I thought you met her.  She went to the New Year's Eve party.  You and Laney were there."
"What's her name?"
"Starlene".
"No.  I was tied up the entire evening with the new junior senator and a couple of diplomats from the UN. I would remember meeting a girl named Starlene and especially if she looked like you my dear," he said putting his hand on her knee.
"Would you like something to eat?" she asked hoping for a reason to go into the other room.
"I don't need anything more than I have now.  You look great Tiffany.  I've missed you," he said taking his hand from her knee and putting it around her shoulder pulling her closer to him trying to kiss her.
Tiffany pulled away from his advance and picked up the glass of brandy from the coffee table.
"What's the matter Tiffany?"
"Stanley.  Really anyone could come to the door."
"But they won't. The door's locked and Clark's gone for the evening.  I got your job back for you, didn't I?" he said as he slid his hand under the back of her sweater.
