Tudor City as seen in the picture top right is about as New York as you can get. Tudor City is a self contained city with 3,000 apartments, hotels, shops and private parking along its own street, Tudor City Place. It was constructed back in 1925 when the plaza that is now the UN (to the east) was an industrial area of slaughterhouses and glue factories, therefore the buildings of Tudor City are windowless on their east side.
Top left picture you see a close shot of the Chrysler Building on 42nd Street. Tudor City is across from the United Nations Plaza and steps away from busy 42nd Street.
Center right picture you see Grand Central Station and the Met Life Building on 42nd Street.
