Friday December 29th 2000 "Excuse me", Tiffany said sliding out of the booth at the MacDougal Cafe and walking towards the ladies room. She glanced back and noticed that her little sister Starlene and her Playbody model friend Laney were certainly hitting it off after just meeting today at lunch. "So Starlene how long you stayin' in New York with your sister?" Laney asked. "I hope to stay here permanently," Starlene said in her southern accent. "Cool. Like that's cool. You really like the city huh?" "Yeah. I have to get a job though. Since Tiffany doesn't have one now, I don't want to burden her", Starlene said. "You said you were in the movie business in Georgia. What kinda movies?" "Just local theater. Ticket sales. Stuff like that. I think I'd like to do some modeling though," Starlene said remembering her job as a ticket clerk in the one local movie house in Lillard, Georgia. She quickly thought how timely this was for her to meet a Playbody model like Laney. She casually pushed her shoulders back against the leather booth to better display her natural assets. "You got a nice figure. What kind of modeling do you want to do?" Laney asked. "Whatever's available." "You've top heavy like me, so you couldn't do runway. Besides, the money's in magazines 'cause you can get movie contracts after that," Laney said knowingly. "Sounds good." "You have a portfolio?" "What?" "A book of pictures". "Not recent", Starlene said wondering what a portfolio looked like. "I know a good photographer if you're interested. "Good. Yes, I'm interested. Do you really think I could get some work?" "There are always people looking for pretty girls. If you're willing to do the work they're looking for. If you know what I mean". "I'm a hard worker," Starlene said. "Then you could probably find some work. You have to get a current portfolio though. That takes money. Do you have some money saved?" "Yeah. I've got money," Starlene said hoping it wouldn't cost more than three hundred dollars. "Want me to have the photographer call you?" "Could you give me his number? I don't want Tiffany to know about this. She thinks of me as her little sister you know?" "Sure. Yeah, like this can be between us," Laney said taking out a business card from her purse and writing down the name and phone number of her photographer. "You know he's going to be at the party that Stanley and I are going to, you should come," Laney said. "That would be great! Is Tiffany coming?" "I don't know. We can ask. Here she comes now." "Hi," Tiffany said picking up her jacket from the booth and starting to put it on. The two other women slid out of their seats and started to put on their scarves and coats. "Tiffany do you have plans with Amir tonight?" Starlene asked. "We're just having a quiet dinner at his house," Tiffany said. "Would the three of you like to come to a party with Stanley and me?" Laney asked. "No. Thanks anyway. Amir's already made all of the arrangements for us to have a quiet dinner with Starlene and me," Tiffany said. "Well, I have an idea. Starlene can come to the party with Stanley and me…then you and Amir can have some time alone," Laney said. "I don't know if Starlene wants to…" Tiffany said looking towards Starlene surprised to see that Starlene was so eager to go to a party without her. "You wanna go?" Laney asked watching Starlene's face light up. "Do you mind Tiffany?" Starlene asked. "No. No. If that's what you want to do," Tiffany said walking towards the front door as the two women followed her. "Here's his card. He'll be there tonight," Laney said quietly handing Starlene a business card behind Tiffany's back as the women walked towards the front door. CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE PHOTOS BELOW.
