Friday December 22nd 2000 "Call me as soon as you know, okay?" Tiffany said to her younger sister into the phone in Amir's penthouse office overlooking the Hudson River. Amir watched the excitement on her face. He knew she had been lonely. He knew the news of his marriage had been hard on his lover. He certainly didn't want her to face Christmas alone. "I love you too," Tiffany said hanging up the phone. "When she come?" Amir asked in his broken English smiling as he admired her pretty legs on the edge of his heavy mahogany desk. "She has to see if she can get off work early. Then she has to see if she can book a flight," Tiffany said smiling radiantly for the first time in months. "Where she work?" "She works at the theater." "She is actress?" "No! She works at the Lillard Movie Theater selling tickets. No one is an actress in Lillard, Georgia," she said amused at her wealthy lover. "Then she want to visit?" "Yeah she was thrilled. I just don't know if she can get off work or not." "You feel better now?" "Yes. Thank you Amir," she said quickly moving from his desk to walk towards his sofa to take a seat beside him. "We have dinner tonight? I miss you so much," he said putting his arm around her and pulling her closer to him on the white leather sofa. "I'd love it." "No more talk of move. No more turn me away," he said referring to her previous comments about moving out of the apartment overlooking Washington Square Park that he had furnished her. "I don't think so." "No more talk of going back to this Skeeter?" he said referring to her estranged husband that she had just confessed to seeing in recent days. "I don't think so," she said as he pulled her closer. "What will happen to us now though?" she asked still concerned that he was married and their relationship had no future. "We are together until time come," he said referring to the impending death of his wife in a coma at home on his island. "Together…then?" she asked still longing for a commitment. "When time come…then we have more happier time," he said hoping this would satisfy her for now. "I guess that's all I can ask for." "For tomorrow no one has promise. This I know," he said. "I guess you're right", she said feeling guilty that she had punished him for a fate he couldn't have ever wanted. "No more talk of leaving?" he asked kissing her on the cheek. "No. No more. I love you Amir," she said breathlessly as his lips met hers. "I never get over if I lose you," he said pushing her gently back on the sofa as his hands explored under her soft pink sweater. "Me too. I love you so much Amir," she whispered. The buzzer on his desk sounded. "Amir aren't you going to answer that?" she asked pulling away slightly resisting the urgency of his passionate kisses. "No." he said as he successfully fumbled with the hook on her bra. "It might be important though," she said thinking she had heard footsteps coming towards his office door. "You most important," he said as he pulled at her cashmere sweater. CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE PHOTOS BELOW.
