Tuesday December 12th 2000 "Tiffany I'll talk to you when I get home tonight," Skeeter said in his slow southern accent nervously into the phone as he stared out of his office window to the buildings below. He turned quickly and glanced around the office to be sure his boss couldn't hear him. Lying on his sales report to cover for the days he had spent chasing women had almost cost him his new high paying job this morning. "Why don't we meet for lunch?" she insisted. "I have an appointment during lunch," he said wishing he didn't have to go to lunch with Jan today. She had just called demanding that he see her after learning that Tiffany was staying in his apartment. "Skeeter I thought you said the caller ID was broken." "It is," he lied. "No. It's not either. I got more call and hang ups this morning. I found the caller ID in the desk drawer and plugged it in, it works fine." "Good, good. So what?" he asked getting annoyed with his estranged wife. Jan's call to his sales manager during the sales meeting had his nerves on edge. She got him the job, she might have it taken away from him. "Jan Morgan called that's what". "What are you talking about Tiffany?" "The caller ID said Manhattan Gold International and then the caller hung up." "It was probably your rich boyfriend Tiffany. He owns Manhattan Gold, remember?", he said proud of his quick response. "No it wasn't either. I called back and he's not in the office," she said. "So here we are a few days into our new relationship of starting over and trusting each other and you called your Sugar Daddy's office, huh?" "Just to see if that was Jan that called. She's in the office he wasn't." "That doesn't prove one thing Tiffany. He could have had his secretary call you. The only thing that proves is that you still call your wealthy lover." "I only called to find out if Jan had called here," she said defensively. "I've told you a million times I don't even know this Jan whoever. If you aren't going to trust me then this won't work out, will it?" "I thought she had called…." she said wondering if someone else could have called from Amir's office. "Sounds like you can't get him off your mind. That's what it sounds like to me," he snapped. "Hold on", he said putting his hand over the phone and smiling when he saw the pretty young secretary standing at his office door. "Jan's here to see you", she said softly not wanting to interrupt his phone call. "I gotta go now. This man from London is here to go over the new lingerie line with me," Skeeter lied hanging up the phone as Jan walked into his office. "Hi Baby," he said smiling as he noticed the angry expression on her face. "Are you ready to go to lunch?" she said never taking a seat as she stood in front of his desk in her coat staring at him coldly. "Sure. Where you wanna go?" he asked. "Your apartment," she said watching him closely. "There ain't nothing there to eat," he said in his slow southern accent. "Maybe Tiffany's there." "Is that it?" "Yeah, that's it Skeeter." "I told you I had to let her stay for a night, she doesn't know where to go right now." "Why don't you pick up the phone now and call her Skeeter. Tell her to get another place to live." Jan said reaching for the phone on his desk. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE PHOTOS BELOW.
