Friday November 10th, 2000 "Can I bring you anything else", the waitress at the trendy restaurant asked Laney and Tiffany. "No. Just the check," Laney said. "Let me get that for you", the young businessman at the next table said as the waitress started to hand Laney the check. He and his friends had just watched Laney as she uninhibitedly held up her photo spread in Playbody Magazine for Tiffany to see. "No…thanks anyway", Laney said taking out a credit card and putting it on top of the check for the waitress. "How about dinner tonight," another of the young businessmen asked smiling broadly. "I dun know," Laney said pushing her long blonde hair from her face as if she were considering his offer. "We're going back to Texas tomorrow. You girls could show us the city," the man proposed in his heavy Texan accent. "What kind of business are you guys in?" Laney asked observing the expensive suits of the three handsome businessmen. "Oil." "Oil! I never been with an oil magnate before", Laney said laughing and looking towards Tiffany. "Maybe you and your friend could show us around some before we leave," the young man asked looking towards Tiffany hoping for her assistance. "We have to run. Nice talking with you guys," Laney said as the two women stood up and started to leave. "Here take my card and call us at the Waldorf if you change your mind," the man said standing and handing Laney his card. "You guys stayin' at the Waldorf, huh?" Laney said glancing down at the business card he handed her with his embossed name under that of a high powered oil company. "We might be coming back to New York often though," he said hopefully as the three men watched Laney and Tiffany leaving the dining room. "Man. I hope she calls. I would love to go out with Miss July," one of the men said as they watched Laney and Tiffany turn the corner and walk out of the sight of their table. "Thanks for lunch Laney", Tiffany said as the two women walked through the door of the restaurant out into the chill of the November afternoon. "Come on over and see my apartment. Maybe you'll want to move in with me," Laney said. "I really should look for a job." "It's Friday afternoon. You won't find a job today. Besides we could go out and have some fun." "You going to call those guys?" "I don't know. What do you think?" "They were cute." "See. We could have a lot of fun. Come on over", Laney said as she held out her hand for a cab. "I don't know." "You got something you have to do?" "No". "Then jump in." Laney said as she opened the door of the cab that had urgently come to stop in front of them barely missing their feet. "Okay," Tiffany said sliding into the back of the cab with her new friend. "The Upper East Side in the 80's" Laney said as the cell phone in her purse started to ring. Tiffany watched as Laney rummaged through her purse for the phone and answered. "Hello….Stanley, hi Honey. I'm on my way home with Tiffany now." CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE PHOTOS BELOW.
