Wednesday November 8th, 2000 Tiffany handed the woman at the counter the job application she had filled out and smiled hopefully. "We'll call you if something becomes available," the lady said. "Do you think you'll be hiring any more people for Christmas sales?" Tiffany asked. "Like I said Miss, we'll call you if anything becomes available. Next!" the woman said in a very commanding voice. Tiffany stepped aside and walked down the isle towards the front door of the busy department store. "Did you see the ones on her?" a young woman said to her friend at the jewelry counter as Tiffany walked past. "With those implants, she's probably an exotic dancer", the other young woman said as they both giggled. The doorman pushed open the door as Tiffany walked out into the cold bright November day. She stopped in front of the store and stared down the street wondering if there were any other stores close by in which she could apply for a job. "Tiffany!" She heard a woman exclaim from behind her. "Laney, what a surprise to see you here" Tiffany said as she turned to face Stanley Morgan's young blonde girlfriend. "I was just trying on some dresses for the party," Laney said. "Oh, what party?" "You know! Da! The opening of Manhattan Gold International", Laney said surprised that Tiffany would ask her such a question. "Oh, yeah." "Who are you wearing?" Laney asked excitedly. "I'm not going." "Right, like I believe that!" Laney said laughing. "No. I'm not going. I don't work for Clark anymore," Tiffany said flatly. "Where are you working?" "I'm looking for a job." "In there?" Laney said nodding towards the store. "Yeah". "Come on we'll run across the street and get something to eat. I'm starving." "Thanks, but I should be looking for a job," Tiffany said realizing she didn't have enough money to buy lunch. "My treat, and maybe I can help you out!" Laney said smiling sweetly. "Okay, you're on," Tiffany said as the two women walked between the parked cars and dodged the traffic to jaywalk across the street. They walked towards the front door of a small trendy restaurant as the waitress checked their coats and took them to their seats. "This is a cute place," Tiffany said taking her seat in an large upholstered dining chair in front of a fireplace. "Yeah, I always treat myself to lunch here after shopping," Laney said wiggling in her chair to get comfortable. Tiffany smiled as she watched Laney bounce around in her low cut sweater, revealing her well-endowed cleavage. She realized that Laney was surely the topic of the conversation she had overheard at the jewelry counter a few minutes ago. "Like wow. I can't believe you aren't working for Clark anymore," Laney said as she dipped her bread into the bowl of olive oil in a pastel china bowl on the table. "Yeah. I have to find something and fast. I need an apartment and a job," Tiffany said reaching for a slice of fresh Italian bread. "You can move in with me," Laney said to Tiffany glancing up and smiling as a handsome businessman walked past and stared down at her low cut sweater. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE PHOTOS BELOW.
