Thursday November 2nd, 2000 "Stanley, stop!" Tiffany whispered looking towards the front of the limo relieved to see that the driver wasn't watching her and Jan's Father. "What's the matter with you?" Stanley said as his hand stopped, resting on her firm young thigh. "This just isn't right. This makes me feel like Clark was right all along," she said as tears started to roll down her cheeks. "Try not to feel so emotional over this," Stanley said sitting back and pouring himself another brandy from the decanter and placing it back onto the bar beside the door. "Emotional! How can you say this is emotional? Gee, I lose my job over being involved with his clients and here I am in the back of a limo next to his office," she said checking again to be sure that Clark couldn't see her through the dark tinted windows. "Tiffany I've told you before I can help you with this. You need money, I'll give it to you", Stanley said raising the glass of brandy to his mouth as he watched her reaction closely. "I couldn't let you do that." "I don't know why. You saw what happened to Laney," he said smiling fully. "Laney and I are two different people. You're involved with Laney. She's your girlfriend," Tiffany said thinking about the young blonde that had gone on to making good money from her involvement with Stanley. "I can do the same things for you," he said licking the sweet brandy off his lips. "I would never pose in the nude," she said remembering Laney's pride that he had introduced her to the publisher of Playbody and launched her start to fame. "You're smarter than Laney. I mean you're a secretary. Laney wouldn't know how to do half that you do," he said sipping another drink of his brandy as he admired her legs in the black tights. "Is that all you think. You think of me only as a secretary?" "No. No. I think you're a smart woman Tiffany. That's why I like you so much. You can do better than this," he said watching her wipe the tears from her cheeks. "Well how then?" "Use your pretty head. Use everything you've got. It's going to take it all if you want to make it in this city," he said. She listened closely to his words and could hear the echo of his daughter Jan only a few days ago before she had convinced Clark to fire her. She thought of Jan and Skeeter and wondered if her suspicions were right. From the start Jan had plotted to get her fired so that she could have Amir. When that didn't work, Jan might have gone for her husband secretly for spite. Unless Jan and Skeeter were in love...that thought brought more tears. "What should I do then Stanley. I need my job back. Jan told him to fire me." "He'll do whatever I tell him, he wants my business. Jan will do whatever I tell her. She might not like it but she likes the money. If I tell him to hire you back, you're back", he said pouring more brandy into her glass and handing it to her. She took the brandy and took a long sip. The thought of his influence and the power of the brandy warmed and relaxed her nervous tight body. "Relax, don't worry about Jan and whatever she might have said, I'll take care of it." "Okay, I'll try." "Who are you living with?" he asked remembering that Clark said she was living with a friend in a building across from Washington Square Park. "A friend. I desperately need another place now," she said visualizing the newspaper article. 'Amir rushes home unexpectedly to his sick wife.' He had admitted it was true to her on the phone. If only she hadn't hung up in anger. Why didn't he tell her? Why did he wait for her to learn about this in the newspapers along with millions of other shocked New Yorkers? "Your friend with the apartment. Is it an eligible bachelor?" he asked wondering if she had many female friends that might be attractive like her. "Let's just say it's not working out," she said staring at the carpet on the floor of the limo to avoid his eyes. "I'll get you a place," Stanley said putting his brandy glass down on the bar. "I really need a place of my own." "You'll get whatever you want," he said coming close to her. "That would be nice," she said looking up and suddenly tasting the brandy on his lips.
