1  cup dry white vermouth
1 cup water
1/3 cup thinly sliced yellow onion
1/3 cup thinly sliced celery
1/3 cup thinly sliced carrots
3 sprigs of parsley
1 bay leaf
1/4 teaspoon thyme
3 peppercorns
2 pounds fresh shrimps

Simmer dry white vermouth, water, onion, celery, carrots, parsley, bay leaf, thyme, and peppercorns in tightly covered enameled casserole for 15 minutes.  Then add the shrimps in shells and simmer, covered, for 4 to 5 minutes, shaking casserole frequently.  Let shrimps cook in liquid.  Peel and devein. 

This dish is very basic and can be served as an entrée accompanied by a rice or pasta dish.
