Monday October 16th, 2000 Jan walked into the kitchen pulling her robe around her nude body as she walked. "Morning Miss Morgan", Ilona her live-in housekeeper said. "Morning Ilona. Skeeter will be down soon for breakfast," she said pouring herself a cup of hot coffee. "This Skeeter you marry?" Ilona asked in her heavy foreign accent. "No. Right now he's just fun to have around," Jan said taking a seat at the bar. "Fun is good for husband too, no?" Ilona asked smiling. "Yeah, you're right. He's got a wife though," Jan said watching Ilona's head turn as if she had asked too many questions. "They're separated though," Jan added quickly. "Then maybe one day?" Ilona said pouring herself a cup of coffee. "Yeah. I don't know if Father would approve of him though, so don't ever mention that he's been around to anyone", Jan said picking up the newspaper from the counter. "Never. Your business I never tell anyone. Of course," the dark haired Italian woman said wondering if her employer would ever find a husband. She had worked for Jan many years and knew how much she wanted to be married. Skeeter was the first man that had spent nights in the East Side mansion in many years. Sad, she thought that Jan would have fallen for a married man. "Did you see this?" Jan said as her mouth fell open and she gasped for breath glancing at Ilona over the morning newspaper. "What?" Ilona asked quickly coming closer to look over Jan's shoulder at the newspaper. "This has to be a mistake." Jan said shaking her head in disbelief. "Mr. Hada have wife?" Ilona asked reading the headlines over Jan's shoulder. "I never heard Amir speak of a wife before", Jan said rereading the article quickly as if her eyes had played a trick on her. "This is shock," Ilona said thinking of the handsome wealthy foreigner. She knew Jan would like Amir to be more a part of her life than just a business partner. "Hey Ilona," Skeeter said in his southern accent walking into the kitchen and towards the coffee machine. "Morning Mr. Diamond," Ilona said admiring Skeeter's muscular body as he walked towards the counter in his boxer shorts and his hair tossed from sleeping. She could understand why a lonely woman like Jan would have a hard time giving up a man like him even if he was all wrong for her wealthy employee. "Skeeter wear a robe, honestly," Jan said looking up from her paper noticing Ilona's eyes on Skeeter as he took a seat at the bar. "Ilona don't mind, do you Ilona?" Skeeter said smiling and sipping his coffee loudly. He smiled as he watched Ilona turn her head to open a cabinet door and busy herself with work. Jan slapped the newspaper down on the cabinet and picked up her coffee mug. "What's the matter?" Skeeter asked seeing the shock on Jan's face. "Look. This has to be a misprint or bad reporting", Jan said picking up the newspaper and handing it to Skeeter. She watched as his eyes widened as he read the headlines. "Damn. This dude's had everybody fooled a long time hasn't he," Skeeter said laughing out loud. "It's not funny," Jan snapped. "What's the matter? Who cares if he's got a wife?" Skeeter asked as a sudden look of understanding came over his face. "It's the kind of thing I should have known all along. I'm his business partner," Jan said. "Yeah, I guess this will surprise a lot of people," Skeeter said. He smiled thinking how devastated his estranged wife Tiffany would be to find out her wealthy lover was a married man.
